    Hi would you recommend this e-bike over the Deer 20

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight 53 хвилини тому

      Depends. If you want a softer ride, I'd go with the full suspension of the Deer 20. If you don't need that, then the Ocelot Pro 2.0 is the way to go. If you need a torque sensor bike, then the Ocelot Pro 2.0 is the way to go. If you want to save money, the Ocelot Pro 2.0 is the better choice. The main thing going for the Deer 20 is its back suspension.

    The Kospet is an excellent alternative to the Apple Watch, a very competitive price $$. I use my Apple Watch to keep track of my rides, does lots of stuff. Hoping watches currently on the market will have the glucose monitor, an excellent non-evasive feature, and probably a year away from final development.

By the time I had enough for an Apple Watch I thought, “Hey, I could buy a cheap e-bike.” Then I thought, why not save more and get a better e-bike. Russ, I just watched this video for the first time…yep I absolutely love Indian food too! Butter chicken is good but I find it too rich, my favorites are; Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Korma, Curry (spicy) Chicken and of course Tandoori chicken! I also love a lot of the Indian vegetarian dishes…like Baingan Bhartha roasted eggplant 🍆 w/onions, Aloo Ghobi (cauliflower sautéed vegetables w/potato’s) in Indian spices, Chana Saag (chick peas w/spinach onions tomatoes ginger and garlic 🧄. The list just goes on and on, I think Indian, Chinese, Japanese sushi and Thai food are my favorites. If I was reincarnated I must have been from the Asian continent maybe from Tibet or India or somewhere in between. Lol 😆 Russ I need your help… I can’t find that video you made about cast iron cooking pans. What are the names of those 2 old world cast iron cooking 🍳 pans…?? I have a very old cast iron pan that’s been kept in the family, this iron pan is really really old my great grandmother used it to cook family meals when we lived in Chicago. I just cooked up a nice big plate of fresh Beef liver with onions….my dogs are circling me, they smell that fresh liver…lol

    70 now as well, and this is one great review. My hill is so steep to get back from the store, I'm forced to get off and climb up the hill to it levels off, then continue, being both my knees get too extremely painful even in first gear on mountain bike within half a block. So Ebike is going to be my only choice, and I've seen many reviews the last couple years, of RAD Ebikes are probably one of the best options, where some can easily cost upwards of $3K - $7K. Winter here, the roads are ice covered, to where even trying to walk up the hill is brutal. I'd switch the thin fat Ebike tires to motocross tires, and stud them for winter, like I used to do on Pro-motocross 500 single. 500 screws inserted with cordless, and impossible to fall on ice. Ive also come across builds with dual motors, for two wheel drive. I'm really looking forward to getting Ebike with belt drive, and not have derailer issues, to rusty chain needing lube every ride. These belt type seem to be mid motor designs and again the cost goes up as well. As for frame design, I tend to look for step through types so when loaded down heavy with groceries, and trying to throw leg over, this would be drastic falling over event, vs step through. Especially when it's icy conditions. My other bike weights 850bs, so I know how risky it can be falling over when stopped. Where one should practice a mid high pedal step off if situation comes up to bail off. Or experience the cockroach syndrome under bike. As Pro racing builder of radical machines, it's probably time to slow it down a tad, on a good Ebike. I'm truly amazed at your age, where you don't look a day over fourty. You might have to share what special sauce is required.. Cheers

    Russ just a question about the amount of noise generated from a typical e-bike. Have you found that most e-bikes w/a belt drive are much quieter than chain driven bikes? Are e-bikes with a rear drive motors always louder than mid-drive bikes? Tires and tread. It seems the greater the nobbies or more aggressive the tread the louder tire noise will be while riding. Of all the e-bikes you have ridden and reviewed is there an e-bike that stood out to you as being the more quiet? Do you find that while riding in the woods…people more frequently comment or give looks if the e-bike is loud? In other words the louder the noise from your e-bike the more often you get comments and looks. Magicycle Ocelot Pro 2.0 This bike seems relatively quiet, until you really ramp up the speed. The new Cadence sensor is a great new feature, I’m sure it will be replicated. It’s great to hear more of the e-bike manufacturers are raising the weight capacity to 400-450 pounds. Thanks again for sharing your review…I’m still undecided on which e-bike to purchase. My goal is to strike a good balance in deciding which e-bike to purchase. I’m torn between which bike to buy to best accommodate my height and weight. A person could spend hours and hours watching all the bike reviews on UA-cam. I respect your opinion and trust your judgement, you provide an honest review. By the way my Char Sui barbecue pork came out fantastic! I miss living in Illinois, it’s almost impossible to find a good Chinese restaurant and a place that makes good pizza. 🍕 Yeah, I’ll admit it…I often give in and buy the Costco pepperoni 🍕 pizza slice or all beef Costco hot dog!🌭

      Wow... lots of questions! To answer your questions... YES! Belts are quieter than chains, rear hub motors are louder than mid-drive (for the most part), knobbier tires are noisier than non-nobby tires. The quietest bike I ever had was the Magicycle Commuter bike. It was a single speed, belt driven bike. No gears meant that even when you coast, you don't hear any gears clicking. Smaller motor , smaller battery, but the frame was essentially a road bike frame. Very lightweight with very thin tires. It was like a stealth bike! Of course, Class 1 only, so no throttle and assist to 20mph. Glad your Char Siu came out good! :)

      Oh, also, the bigger the bike, the more comments made. If you are riding a commuter style bike where many people don't even know or can tell that it is an ebike, the less comments. Ride a big bike like the Magicycle Cruiser or the Deer 26, you will get looks and possibly comments.
